FAQ
You ask, we answer.
What is compounding?
Compounding is a specialised pharmacy practice that enables practitioners to prescribe and patients to take medicines that are specially prepared by pharmacists to meet a patients individual needs. Customized, compounded medications are prescribed veterinarians and mixed safely by trained compounding technicians and pharmacists. This is why compounding is a terrific solution for Veterinary use as varying species and intra-species differences mean that different dosing is required, different flavours depending on the animals preferences, different dosage forms depending on what works best for that animal, different devices to allow ease of administration for owners and ensuring that ingredients are suitable for that species and bread of animal.

Why do I need to sign and post the prescription if it has already been sent online, email or fax?
The legislation in Australia requires the original prescription with the prescribers details to be sent to the pharmacy to dispense. The digital version of the prescription will allow us to commence the compounding to ensure turn around times are as fast as they can be however we still require the original ink signed prescription.

The website has a handy repeat button to be able to refill prescriptions for patients with ease.
